Because thanks to the twisted, bulbous design, the carafes make an unmistakable gurgling sound when filled or poured − just like their animal counterparts. The brand history of the cult object began in 1870, when Thomas Forester & Sons designed a fish-shaped jug. When two jugs with royal insignia were presented to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in 1958, the jug gained a popularity that continues to this day.
