Prof. Werner celebrates the wondrous breadth and wealth of Nature in a mini-series comprising a wall picture and vase entitled "Fish Flirt in Turquoise". These works of art, painted in his usual inimitably jolly style, were inspired by photographs from a giant aquarium in the Klimahaus in Bremerhaven. With their pursed lips and the smiles on their fishy faces, these cute fanciful creatures exude that sense of gay abandon so typical of Werner. The shape of vase selected, by contrast, was that of the modern classic "Cosmopolitan", on which Werner's cheerful sketches, painted in overglaze colours with areas of tooled gilding, look very elegant and up-to-the-minute.
