This decorative dessert bowl adorns the famous Meissen onion pattern. Throughout his life, Saxony's Elector, "August the Strong" was particularly fond of blue-painted tableware, special porcelain, hand-painted according to the Chinese model. He demanded equivalent tableware from his manufactory. In fact, the onion pattern does not actually represent onions, but shows pomegranate, peach, bamboo stick and delicate flowers, following the model.
