The artist Zhuoyo Hou chose this unusual design inspired by the red silk lanterns of her home country. The transition from hard to soft edges, repeated twelve times, symbolizes the cycle of life. A line is thus created between the soft curves, which leads from softness to sharpness and disappears into the curve of the vase opening.
