One figure of the lovable "Monkey Chapel" by Johann Joachim Kaendler is the "Harpist". With the "Monkey Chapel" from 1753, consisting of 21 hand-painted collectible figures, MEISSEN's first model master wanted to humorously hold up a mirror to courtly society. The monkey was a very popular motif in arts and crafts at the time, and so Kaendler also chose it for these collectible figures. Created with perfected craftsmanship, handmade and hand-painted in great detail, each figurine is unique. Each monkey of the whimsical orchestra has its own unique charm, so that each figure can also be presented as an exclusive individual piece. This new edition of the "Monkey Chapel" commemorates the great Kaendler and testifies to his unique artistry.
